Пра́во — один из видов регуляторов общественных отношений; система общеобязательных, формально-определённых, гарантированных государством правил поведения.	Law - one of the ways of regulating relationships in society; a system of formally defined, generally enforced rules of behaviour, put into force by the state.
Конкретное определение права зависит от типа правопонимания, которого придерживается тот или иной учёный (то есть его представлений о праве).	The actual definition of law depends on the way it is understood by a particular expert in the field (i.e. their interpretation of law).
В то же время определения различных школ позволяют наиболее полно представить право.	At the same time, the definitions offered by various schools of thought enable the fullest representation of the term.
Поэтому для развития правовой науки особенно важен плюрализм, которого не всегда удаётся добиться в силу традиционной близости этой отрасли знаний к государственной власти.	Which is why in order to develop law as a science, a multitude of views is necessary, an endeavour sometimes hindered by the traditional proximity of this field of study to government authrity.

Regardless of the fact that international relations have been around since antiquity, the term itself is fairly new, having been introduced by the English philosopher Jeremy Bentham.

Bentham defined international relations first and foremost as naturally occurring relations between sovereign states, stemming from political relations.
