A trade-mark is a distinctive sign of some kind which is used by a business to identify itself and its products and services to consumers, and to set the business and its products or services apart from those of other businesses.	Maituturing ang "trade-mark" na katangi-tanging tanda or marka na maaring gamiting ng negosyo para makilala mismo ang negosyo at mga produkto at serbisyo ng mga mamimili, at maihiwalay sa iba pang kahalintulad na negosyo, produkto, o serbisyo.
Conventionally, a trade-mark comprises a name, word, phrase, logo, symbol, design, image, characters, logo, a domain name, a colour applied to a surface or a combination of one or more of these elements.	Sa nakagawian, ang binubuo ang "trade-mark" ng pangalan, salita, parirala, "logo", simbolo, disenyo, imahe, karakter, "domain name", kulay na inilapat o kumbinasyon ng isa or marami pang ganitong elemento.
There is also a range of non-conventional trade-marks which do not fall into these standard categories.	Mayroon pa na ibang saklaw na hindi nakasanayang "trade-marks" na hindi pumapaloob sa mga nakasanayang katergorya.
The function of a trade-mark is to serve as an exclusive identifier of the source or origin of a product or service.	Eksklusibong pagpapakilala ang ginagampanan ng "trade-mark" ng pinagmulan o pinanggalingan ng produkto o serbisyo.
"Because the purpose of a trade-mark is to distinguish the wares/services of a person by associating the wares/services with a single source, the trade-mark must be distinctive and remain distinctive of the single source."	"Sa kadahilanang layunin ng "trade-mark" na mapakilala ang paninda/serbisyo sa iisang pinagmulan, katangi-tangi dapat ang "trade-mark" at mananatiling katangi-tangi ng nag-iiisang pinagmulan.
A trade-mark owner seeks to enforce their rights or interests in a trade-mark by preventing unauthorised trade-mark use.	Maaring maghanap ang may-ari ng "trade-mark" ng pagpatupad sa sariling karapatan or interes sa "trade-mark" upang pigilan ang hindi awtorisadong paggamit nito.
For a trade-mark to be in "use" it must have public "impact".	Para magkaroon ng "gamit" ang isang "trade-mark", kinakailang may pampublikong "epekto".
As such internal company documents, such as letterhead, memos, reports, etc. are not sufficient unless they are used in outside correspondence.	Kaya naman, hindi sasapat ang mga internal na dokumento ng kumpanya, kahalintulad ng "letterhead", "memos", ulat, atbp. kung hindi ito magagamit sa panlabas na pakikipagsulatan.
