A newspaper column is an essential part of journalism with the goal of providing information about general interest topics whether they are social or political in nature.
Es un texto que expresa la opinión que redacta el mismo público al cual es dirigido, con la finalidad de encontrar en el lector la formación de la opinión y el conocimiento del tema.	It is a text expressing the opinion of an audience intended for that very same audience in order for readers to gather more information regarding their thoughts on a subject.
El habla de un artículo periodístico es sencillo, puesto que no necesita que se explique a profundidad, sino que se exponga desde un punto de vista hacia los demás con fines de buscar su opinión sobre el tema.	A newspaper column uses simple language since no in depth explanation is required and is written for the purpose of gathering opinions on the subject.
No necesita de un vocabulario especializado ni preciso, sino algo que sea muy cotidiano y evidente, con sentido y que abra y aclare dudas al lector.	Neither a specialized nor precise vocabulary is needed, but instead everyday, clear, and meaningful language that welcomes a reader and clarifies his/her doubts.
Tampoco requiere de tener un nivel de argumentación largo, sino algo que abra las puertas de la imaginación de los lectores a seguir buscando información.	A newspaper column does not need an extensive rationale; it only needs to spark readers' imagination so they continue seeking more information.
