In the United States, cinema had overwhelming success for one peculiar social circumstance: being a country of immigrants, many of whom did not speak English, things such as theater, press, or books were forbidden to them for their idiomatic barrier. Because of this the world of silent cinema transformed to become an important fountain of amusement for them. |
