In 1981, Sony unveiled the first consumer camera to use a charge-coupled device for imaging, eliminating the need for film: the Sony Mavica.	فى عام 1981كشفت شركة سونى عن اول كاميرا تستخدم جهاز شحن سلكى للتصوير؛قاضية على الحاجة لفبلم التصوير : سونى مافاكيا.
While the Mavica saved images to disk, the images were displayed on television, and the camera was not fully digital.	بينما تحتفظ مافاكيا بالصور على ذاكرة؛ تظهر الصورة على التلفاز ؛و بالتالى الكاميرا لم تكن الكترزنبة كلياً.
In 1991, Kodak unveiled the DCS 100, the first commercially available digital single lens reflex camera.	فى عام 1991 :كشفت شركة كودك عن dcs 100 اول كاميرا ذات عدسة عاكسة واحدة.

An important difference between digital and chemical photography is that chemical photography resists photo manipulation because it involves film and photographic paper, while digital imaging is a highly manipulative medium.	فرق جوهرى بين التصوير الكميائى والرقمى ان الكميائى لايمكن تغيره لانه يتضمن فيلم و ورقة فوتوغرافية : ألا أن الرقمى يمكن التلاعب به بشدة.
