Arabs have several meanings for this term |
One of them is close to the art we know today. |
In the past, the Arabs used to call it several names |
like, talk, news, and conversation |
and myth |
andThe oldest Arab stories are written about what was mentioned in the Qur’an about bygone nations |
circulated from the prophet |
And a warning to the disbelievers |
And if the pre-Islamic Arabs had their stories, |
As the news shows Nadr bin Al-Harith and others |
And when Muslims were concerned with the Qur’anic stories, their interpretation, and completion |
the religious stories were originated and mingled with Christian, and Jewish stories. |
and the caliphs care of the storytelling, whose mission was to preach in peace |
and incitement to hardship in war |
so they assigned salaries |
and They permitted them to speak in the mosques - even if the hard-liners were among the clerics, they were not satisfied with them because they were not investigating the truth - and call out their reputation that Muawiya bin Abi Sufyan brought them to his court and wrote their stories. |
And the Arab and Arabized stories expanded in the Abbasid era |
And it was recorded in the books from which Ibn al-Nadim counts a lot, |
After Ibn Al-Muqaffa opened the door to the translation "Kalila wa Dimna". |
In the fourth century Hijri |
maqamat appeared |
and the authorship was associated with them |
and the public had their stories with whom they responded |
they dictated what expresses to them |
Like the stories of One Thousand and One Nights, |
And the popular biography that was found during the Crusades. |
in the modern era, Arab writers told the western story in its various kinds and arts |
The story developed in Egypt in particular, until it reached the level of the Western story. |

as for the story in the modern era, it is a narrative recounting of an interconnected group of events that t have a beginning, a middle, and an end |
the writer links them together by choosing words in which the writer expresses his personal feelings or a prevailing problem in society |
They may have educational, cognitive or artistic purposes. |
Relatively short storytelling (perhaps ten thousand words) intended to have a singular, dominant effect and has elements of drama |
Most of the time the short story focuses on one character in one situation in a single moment. |
Even if these conditions are not met, unity must be the guiding principle for it. |
many of the stories consist of a person or a group of personalities who are presented against his background or situation |
and indulge during the mental or physical activity in the situation |
and this dramatic conflict signifies the collision of opposing forces as an example in the heart of many excellent short stories
|
Tension is one of the structural elements of the short story, and the integrity of the impression is a feature of its reception, in addition to the fact that it often expresses the single voice of one of the immersed group. |
some researchers argue that the short story that has been found throughout history has been found in different forms, such as those of the old era about king daoud |
and our master joseph and ruth |
The chronicles and moral role models in their claim were the medium age forms of the short story. |
But many researchers consider that the issue is greater than different forms of the short story, |
This literary genre presupposes the liberation of the ordinary individual from the neatness of old dependencies and his audiences as an independent individual subject aware of its inner freedoms of feeling and thinking, |
It has the characteristics of its individuality in contrast to the typical ready-made patterns that starred in ancient storytelling. |
And he (Edgar Allan Poe) is considered one of the pioneers of the modern short story in the West. |
This genre of literature has blossomed. |
Around the world, |
Over a century ago at the hands of (Maupassant, Zola, Turgenev, Chekhov, Hardy, and Stephenson), |
And hundreds of short story artists. |
In the Arab world, the short story reached a high degree of maturity at the hands of Youssef Idris in Egypt, |
And Zakaria Tamer in Syria, |
And Muhammad Al-Murr in the UAE. |
